⚡️ Whenever politicians attempt to hack our minds with Disinfolklore (Brexit Disinfolklore: Small Boat People; Ruschist Disinfolklore: Ukrainians deserve genocide, Little Green Men; or Trump Disinfolklore: ‘Our bloodlines being poisoned by migrants…’)…
We might assess the Mana in their memes (and our response), for six characteristics:
Generosity. Ethical Discipline. Patience. Joyous Perseverance. Focus. Insight.
I call this the Code of Positive Trolls.
Proof ANY and every communication by you, to you, or within your awareness by these criteria.
If its Mana (energy) is the opposite of any or all of the Code of Positive Trolls’s elements, then, you’re dealing with Disinfolklore.
On the other hand, if the story you’re telling affirms the Mana immanent in these six criteria - if their Mana infuses the energy your story communicates, then you’re promoting and creating Counter Disinfolklore.
Focussing ALL of a government’s energy on migration as an issue has the Mana of Ungenerosity (right to seek asylum from persecution is lawful and sacrosanct. Administered competently and removing sources of persecution should be the policy, not drowning humans or dehumanising them).
We need to recognise such politicians are being unethically disciplined by suggesting killing or deporting those seeking asylum is right, or the only choice.
In a patient manner, with joyous perseverance, we should remain laser-focussed on sharing our wisdom to undermine their trolls.
That’s the Disinfolklore analytical method for parsing and countering Disinformation.
Thesis: Any time we hear ANY politician focussing on migration as their policy we need to be on guard.
Proof: Since January 2016 English Tory comms strategy and public policy has been dominated by migration as an issue.
Result? £2t so far on Brexit (https://medium.com/political-risk/not-project-fear-project-already-here-812c02751a6c) and everything’s falling apart. 0 dehumanised mythologises Outer Realm Small Boat People (see Brexit Disinfolklore.net) in 2016. Now 100,000 a year. More migrants than ever. And they’re still banging on about it.
A country’s entire future sacrificed to a mythological threat (we need immigrants to keep our economies’ going).
Q.E.D.
Moral of this Counter Disinfolklore?
Whenever our ‘leaders’ attempt to gain more power by destroying the post-WWII settlement (UN Refugee Convention, human rights protected as law), we should avoid voting for them like the plague. They should be administering properly the existing legal framework before we entrust them to ‘creatively’ destroy the legacy our ancestors fought and died for in WWII.
