Disinfolklore is an artificial means of creating a collective consciousness in any community.

By contrast the collection of folktale songs during 18th and 19th centuries was a good faith attempt to record actual existing culture - “culture” is what is hidden (as in occult or the Celts who are named for the deity they worshipped whose epithet was “the Hidden One” / Donn).
The faked Ossian stories published by MacPherson inspired a Europe-wide movement whose result is our modern nation state.
Brothers Grimm and many others worked to create consciousness of national cultures through collecting the stories that defined communities’ identities.
The modern nation state in Europe was created of these efforts - see for example the Irish literary revival of the late 19th century, or how
“earliest articulation of Ukrainian patriotism by Russian subjects came from the new university at Kharkiv, in the 1820s and 1830s… novelty of the Kharkiv revival was not its attention to Ukrainian culture, but rather its association of Ukrainian culture with the Ukrainian lands.” (see

Ruschia today (and its fellow traveller Axis of Misogyny / paleo-male oligarch driven Cultural Warriors) use Disinfolklore to misrepresent our cultures.
Instead of collecting the genuine stories of which our senses of identity are created, they forge Disinfolklore and use their Disinfolklore apparatus (eg. England’s daily male and torygraph media organs) to insert new identities into our minds.

While great parts of future Germany were under French occupation, in 1777 in an essay Herder wrote a moving call to arms:

Ninety years of folklore song collecting later artists like Wagner had created a national consciousness. Wagner mined Roman writer Tacitus’s recording of the origins of the German tribes in the songs memorialising Mannus and his three sons representing the three Indo-European functions necessary for a healthy polity to persist: Sovereignty (juridical and magical / priestly / poetic), Security, and Fertility.
